This album is a lot more chill than their past ones. The title track life goes on is a homage to spring day, reflecting that feeling of longing and being apart from what you love. On the other hand songs like Dis-ease and telepathy bring a much livelier tone to the album with pulsing beats to get the heart racing, and a beautiful bridge created by Mr Park Jimin in record time. Blue and grey and fly to my room sit back and show Bts’ longing to enjoy life again with army by their side, the pandemic and life getting in the way. A skit comprising of their reaction winning bb number 1 is central to the album, their laughs and cheer cushion their words of excitement. Lastly is dynamite, the chart topping bop is the beginning of a bright future for BTS, if it is not this album or the next, know that BTS will re-sit at the top of bb100 with a fully Korean bts song. That promise will be made a truth, “what yoongi wants yoongi gets”.
I hope this album does well with awards and possibly gets a Grammy. Bts have put so much work into their self produced masterpiece, but I feel like they wouldn’t mind if it wasn’t as successful as their last. This album was different, it came from the heart. Without performing to an audience you find the true reason you do music for you. BE is an album for ARMY, but it is also an album for BTS, a diary in a time of hardship, an act of love and nurture to fill empty days. BE is their saviour, as much as it is ours.
